CalArts Actors Showcase 2026Jayla Park
CalArts Actors Showcase 2026 is a branding project that reinterprets the heritage of the CalArts School of Theater through a contemporary visual identity. Inspired by vintage film texture and atmosphere, the project uses a cinematic color palette, varied typography, and restrained graphic elements to evoke drama, memory, and performance. The identity extends across posters, banners, social media, a website, a printed photobook, and individual actor resumes, creating a cohesive system across platforms. The design carefully balances ensemble and individual portraits with the visual system, allowing the performers to remain central without being visually overpowered.
Archive of the nearly lostJayla Park
This website is an interactive archive for graphic nerds, plant lovers, and anyone about to become one. It playfully explores local ecology through layered interactions, curious facts, and reflective prompts that make ecological awareness feel engaging and fun. Each plant is labeled with its conservation status based on California Department of Fish and Wildlife rankings, with filters that help users explore how different species are faring across the state. Beyond a static database, the archive invites visitors to leave notes about their own plant encounters, gradually building a shared layer of memory around local ecology.
Yesterday + Today + TomorrowJayla Park
Yesterday + Today + Tomorrow was an annual design exhibition and makers market showcasing work created by students, faculty, and staff of the CalArts School of Art. In collaboration with an exhibition team, I developed the event’s visual identity, branded collateral, and created wall graphics and signage for the physical installation. The project emphasized playful experimentation with typography and spatial design to celebrate the creative diversity of the CalArts community.
